Abstract
The growth of oxide manganite-cuprate heterostructures and the results of experiments on the injection of spin-polarized carriers into a high-Tc superconductor are discussed. The investigation of spin injection and spin-polarized tunneling into superconductors can provide valuable information on spin-dependent properties, such as the spin relaxation length. It may also result in the development of new superconducting devices, such as switches and transistors.
