Unrelated HSCT with a reduced-intensity conditioning regimen (RIC) is now widely performed as an alternative to HLA-matched related HSCT. However, the optimal regimen has not yet been well established in Japan, where peripheral blood stem cell transplantation is not yet allowed for unrelated pairs.
