An acoustic method for the measurements of flexoelectric coefficients in nematic liquid crystals☆

Abstract We propose and realized an acoustic method to measure the flexoelectric coefficients of nematic liquid crystals directly. The absolute value of the flexo-coefficient Г e 1z Г and its temperature dependence curve are given, and Г e 3x Г ⪡ Г e 1z Г.
