Abstract
Objective To investigate the expression and effect of vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) in fire acupuncture treatment for the wound surface in bedsore mice.Method Seventy-two clean-class healthy female SD mice were randomly assigned to control,far-infrared,conventional acupuncture and fire acupuncture groups.A mouse model of bedsore was made. The tissue was taken for a pathological examination at the second day,and 3,7,10 and 15 days after treatment.Histological changes were observed by HE staining.VEGF expression and microvessel count(MVC) in the granulation tissue of wound surface were observed by an immunohistochemical method and image analysis in various groups of mice.Result It showed by one-way ANOVA and pairwise comparison that, the expression of VEGF and MVC in fire acupuncture group were significantly different from those in conventional acupuncture group and far-infrared group(P 0.05,P 0.01),and the difference in therapeutic efficacy between conventional acupuncture and far-infrared groups was insignificant(P0.05).Conclusion The expression of vascular endothelial growth factor in the wound surface is significantly higher in the fire acupuncture group of bedsore mice than in the conventional acupuncture,far-infrared and control groups.
