Abstract
The Grenoble High Magnetic Field Laboratory (GHMFL), in collaboration with the Oxford Instrument Company and the University of Stuttgart, is developing a project named Giga-NMR. The goal of this project is to achieve a field of 21 T in a cold bore diameter exceeding 100 mm with a sufficient spatial homogeneity and temporal stability to allow for NMR investigations. The concept and principles to achieve this goal are described together with a preliminary schedule.
