Abstract
Traumatic shock in a Golden Eagle. The authors examine and describe a case of traumatic shock in an adult, female golden eagle Aquila chrysaëtos specimen found wounded in the territory of Alcara Li Fusi (Messina) and which subsequently died. After permission from the Legal Authority and in the context of a medico-legal examina- tion, results of the anatomo-histopathological pictures and the microbiological and toxicological analysis are repor- ted. The present description aims at providing further contribution to the knowledge of wild animals pathology. The authors talk about the results of anatomo-histopathological and laboratory analysis and about its practising aspects. Finally they make some considerations about the causes and the predisposing factors in such cases of death.
