Electroencephalographic and other effects of naloxone in normal men.

Placebo, 10 and 20 mg of naloxone was injected i.v. to 24 healthy young males. Electroencephalogram (EEG) and oral temperature were recorded before and after each injection. Computer EEG analyses have demonstrated that naloxone elicited a significant slowing of the average alpha frequency. Oral temperature after naloxone was significantly lower than after placebo.
