Survey on Blood Lead Level Among Children Aged 0-14 in Weifang City,2010

[Objective]To understand the blood lead level among children aged 0-14 years in Weifang city,so as to provide basis for making the lead poisoning control policy.[Methods]4 223 children from urban and rural were chosen to detect the blood lead level by cluster sampling method in 2010.[Results]The average blood lead value of 4 223 children was 56.57±27.12 μg/L(that of boys and girls was 58.58±27.14 μg/L and 53.87±26.89 g/L).233 out of 4 223 cases were higher than 100 μg/L,leading mild poisoning.The rate of lead poisoning was 5.52%,with 5.90% for boys and 5.01% for girls,without significant differences(P0.05).The rate of lead poisoning in different age groups,aged 0-4,5-6,7-14 was 2.68%,8.67% and 6.96% respectively(P0.01).The lead poisoning rate of children whose father(or mother) had lead exposure was 10.20%(12.68%),and whose father(or mother) without lead was 4.70%(5.20%)(P0.01);The lead poisoning rate of hosing near main roads,above 7 m apart from main roads and far away from main roads was 5.69%,5.67% and 3.11% respectively(P0.01).[Conclusion]The children's blood lead level is not high in Weifang city.The lead poisoning rate of children aged 5-6,whose father with lower education level,or whose parents have leading exposure jobs,or children living along the streets is higher.
