Epidemiological tendency of Scarlet Fever in China(2003-2008)

Objective The study was conducted to determine the current epidemiological condition and tendency of Scarlet Fever for the development of specific control strategies.Methods Data from 2003 to 2008 of Scarlet Fever were analyzed in according to the onseting time of infectious diseases.All data were from the web of Chinese Center of Disease Control and Prevention.Results As the cases of Scarlet Fever was creasing,its ranking had rosen to 12 from 17 from 2003.The two peak stages occurred from May to June and from November to December,There was no significant difference between gender,while 1-10 age group was the risk group.Conclusions Since the number of scarlet fever infection is increasing,the surveillance in schools and kindergartens should be further strengthened to prevent the outbreak.
