Parental Perspectives on Restricting Adolescents’ Reproductive Health Options: a Population-Based Survey of Parents of Teens

Purpose: To assess parental attitudes and knowledge toward laws re: minors’ age of consent and access to reproductive health services; parental preferences regarding legislation mandating parental notification for minors’ access to contraception. Main hypothesis: Among demographic and attitudinal variables, endorsement of parental notification will be most strongly related to perceived positive consequences of such laws for adolescent sexual health and parent-teen communication.
