Optical properties and extinction spectroscopy to characterize the synthesis of amine capped silver nanoparticles

Abstract
The present work describes a method for preparation of Ag nanoparticles from chemical reduction of AgNO3 in ethanol with ATS [N-[3-(trimethoxysilyl)propyl] diethylenetriamine] as surface modifier. We study the influence of different parameters such as concentration, time, temperature and reductor agents on the size and shape of the nanoparticles. We present the morphologic and structural characterization of samples by UV–vis extinction spectroscopy, Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD).
