Evaluation on application of BiPAP ventilation in treating patients with acute left heart failure

Objective:To investigate the therapeutic effects of mechanical ventilation using BiPAP in patients with acute left heart failure. Method:Forty patients with acute left heart failure were divided to patients by a nose(face) mask connected to a ventilator set in S/T. Arterial blood gases, respiratory rate(RR), heart rate, and blood pressure were measured after therapy. Result:Dyspnea was relieved in BiPAP group, both the respiratory rate and heart rate were slowed, the effective rate was 95.0%. There was no change in blood pressure.While the total effective rate is only 65.0% in control group. Conclusion:BiPAP ventilation showed notably effective in treating patients with acute left heart failure.
