Abstract
Objective:To study the gene expression characteristics of some important hormones in neuroendocrine tissues of tumor mice and spontaneously hypertensive rats(SHRs) and Goto-Kakisaki (GK) Wistar rats. Methods: The pathogenic toxin-exuberance syndrome and qi-deficiency syndrome in early stage,yang-qi deficiency syndrome and qi deficiency syndrome in intermediate stage,qi-yin-yang deficiency syndrome and qi deficiency syndrome in advanced stage were differentiated in H22 tumor-bearing mice; the qi excess syndrome and qi deficiency syndrome were differentiated in SHRs and GK rats; these model rats and mice were compared with normal and normal with qi deficiency syndrome rats and mice respectively; the gene expressions in hypothalamus,pituitary gland,thyroid gland,adrenal gland and gonad were detected by Affymetrix GeneChip; the gene expressions of CRH,POMC,TRH,TSH,GnRH,FSH,LH,GhRH and GH were observed. Results: (1)The expression of TRH in hypothalamus of rats and mice was higher than CRH,GnRH and GhRH; the expressions of TSH,POMC,FSH and GH in pituitary gland were higher and the GnRH,GhRH and CRH were also expressed at different degrees; the POMC,TSH,FSH,LH and GH were expressed in thyroid gland,adrenal gland and gonad at different degrees especially in mice,but there was no regularity; the expression of LH in spermary was higher in normal rats. (2)The levels of these hormones were lower in normal rats and mice with qi deficiency,while the expressions of TRH and TSHb were higher in mice. (3)The inhibitory degree of expressions of neuroendocrine hormones was more severe in the syndromes with severe harm on body such as pathogenic toxin-exuberance syndrome of tumor and qi excess syndrome of hypertension than those in qi deficiency syndrome at the same stage after pothogenesy. Conclusion:There is differentiation on regulating mode of some important hormones in neuroendocrine tissues of rats and mice. As a whole,the neuroendocrine axis is inhibited lightly in rats and mice with qi deficiency syndrome especially in rats and mice with severe disease but the thyroid axis is exception in mice.
