Effects of corncob particle size on the mycelium growth and yield of Pleurotus eryngii in factory production

The effects of corncob particle size in the substrate were analyzed on the mycelium growth rate,yield per bottle,biological efficiency and growth cycle of Pleurotus eryngii in factory production. The results showed that the mycelium growth rate and yield per bottle increased significantly with the corncob particle size increasing in single corncob particle size tests,the X_1 formula yielded averagely 133.29±7.91 g a bottle which was 10.56%higher than CK,and the excessively small corncob particles could result in lengthening the growth cycle.In mixed corncob particle size tests,the M_3 and M_4 formulae yielded averagely 131.83±4.02 and 133.63±5.53 g per bottle,respectively increasing by 9.36%and 10.85%over CK.
