Research on the Active Components of Red cClover and Its Application in Health Food and Pharmaceutical

Selenium (Se) and Isoflavones compounds, which are study hotspots in the fields of health food and biomedicine, have important biological functions and pharmacological action. Red Clover has abundant Isoflavones and it is the resource of the crude botanic organic—Se since it has the ability of enrichment to Se. Thus, it is considered as one of the new resources which have most exploitive future in health food and pharmaceutical, and the studies on its active components will become the fieriest research hotspot. This article summarized the internal and external research progress on the main active components and pharmacological action of Red Clover, reviewed its applications in health food and pharmaceutical, and forecast its further application as well.
