Abstract
The clinical features and their mechanism of chemical intoxications during exposure to high altitudes are comprehensively reviewed.Hypobaric hypoxia is a major undesirable factor that may produce injuries to the body during exposed to high altitudes. In the near twenty years,a series of technique and model have been established to effectively simulate the high altitude situation with hypobaric hypoxia. Results from the studies in these technique and models indicated a joined effect of the two factors, hypoxia and chemical intoxication. The physiopathologic parameters and chemical metabolism process were changed.Clinical manifestation and the efficacy of therapeutic drugs were also altered. These information suggest a need to evaluate the reliability of the conventional treatment scheme in the cases of combined injury of chemical intoxication and hypoxia.
