Abstract
To improve the efficiency of data access in hydrological systems,a cross-platform database middleware system is designed and realized which hides the process of database access for automatic hydrological applications.The architecture of the middleware is discussed.Some details about critical technologies are offered,including database connection pool,multithreading,ODBC/UNIX ODBC,storages order change.An example of application of the middleware to the Three Gorges reservoir dispatching automation system is also provided.
