Clinical Analysis of Severe Drug Eruption Due to Allopurinol

Objective To analyze the clinical characteristics of severe drug eruption by allopurinol and investigate the effect of gammaglobulin combined with methylpredisolone on severe drug eruption.Methods The clinical data of 9 patients with drug eruption caused by allopurinol were retrospectvely analyzed.Results Severe drug eruption caused by allopurinol had four types: erythema multiforme major,drug-induced epidermolysis,drug-induced exfolialive dermatitise.It was characterized by long-incubation period,critical situation,hepatic and renal dysfunction.The effective rate of gammaglobulin combined with methylpredisolone was 88.88%.Conclusion Severe drug eruption caused by allopurinol had special characterizes,gammaglobulin combined with methylpredisolone were effective treatment.
