Problems and Development Prospect of Modern Pesticides

The development trends of pesticides were predicted based upon analysis of the problems and the side-effects of pesticides. It is pointed out that pesticides are indispensable to modern agriculture, particularly to high-efficiency agriculture. In the 21century, the pesticides will be developed toward efficiency, safety, economy and convenience. Chemical pesticides will still be given the most important priority; biological pesticides are thought to have a bright prospect; transgenic plants will become new triggers for development of pesticides.
