Abstract
Based on the EM wave reflection occurred at interface of media having different physical properties, the relative dielectric constant of road pavement could be automatically calculated by using amplitudes of radar signals. And based on the physical modeling results, a mathematical model describing the relation between moisture and dielectric constant was set up. Pavement water content of bituminous road could thus be detected by using ground penetrating radar.
