The Fate Of Psychiatric Patients During The Nazi Period In Styria/Austria Part Ii: The Yugoslav Region Of Lower Styria

This paper represents historical research into the Nazi T4 Program in the Yugoslav region of Lower Styria in the year 1941. A T4 registration campaign was launched in mental hospitals and old people's homes in Celje, Slovenski Konjice, Vojnik, Maribor, Muretinci, and Ptuj. Overall, 567 patient registration sheets were filled out in the institutions of Lower Styria for the T4 Program and over 500 patients were sent to the T4 gassing institution at Hartheim Castle. In addition, between June 1941 and May 1945 (in conformity with the Reichs Committee for the registration of hereditary and genetic severe illnesses), 62 Lower Styrian children and adolescents brought to the Feldhof Hospital (Graz/Austria) died.
