Background/Aim. HHV-8, a member of herpesviridae family with a seropositivity relatively common in southern Italy, is pathogenic in humans, especially in cases of immunodepression. We observed three patients who, shortly after LT, developed HHV-8 systemic infection and died despite antiviral treatment and chemotherapy.
