Research on effect of chitosan-polylactic acid film on rabbit colonic fistula for primary repair

Objective:To compare therapeutic effects of chitosan-polylactic acid film on rabbit colonic fistula.Methods:Polylactic acid film(PAF) and chitosan-polylactic acid film(CPAF) were prepared.The rabbits were divided equally into three groups for different treatments(PAF group,CPAF group,control group),purse string suture following colon stoma.After such disposition,PAF group and CPAF group covered the suture with PAF and CPAF respectively,while control group did nothing.Rabbits were parallel observed and detected with immunohistochemical staining for TGF-β1 after 20 days.Results:Physical characteristic had no statistics difference between PAF and CPAF.Rabbits in PAF and CPAF group all survived,but in control group were dead within 7 days.Immunohistochemical staining for TGF-β1 had obviously smaller amount in CPAF than in PAF and control group,and PAF also smaller than control group.Statistics difference was observed.CPAF had more inhibition in TGF-β1 than the other two group and the results were significant difference.Conclusion:CPAF had better therapeutic efficacy than PAF on colonic fistula.
