2 Component Model Of 2 Body Nucleon Diffraction Dissociation And Comparison With Pip Interactions At 3.9 Gev-C

We have studied π ± p reactions at 3.9 GeV/ c . This paper presents some of the results of a cross channel analysis of the π(N π) final state, the measurements for the diffraction dissociation channels of the individual cross sections and the s and t -channel helicity distributions. A two component model is proposed, the predictions of which are in good agreement with our data.
