Abstract
The detrended fluctuation analysis(DFA) method is applied to effectively eliminate noise and possible non-stationary information in the data series and thus the scaling index is gained,which is a parameter to depict the long behavior of the river runoff evolvement quantificationally.According to the change of the parameter,the long range power-law correlation and the time scales of the river runoff are discussed.Through imitative analysis of the real runoff data from Guide hydrological station in the upstream of the Yellow River,the results show that the DFA is feasible.
