进入21世纪后我国天然气勘探事业发展迅速,探明储量快速增长,发现大气田速度加快.指出近年来我国天然气储量快速增长主要集中在五大气区即鄂尔多斯气区、四川气区、塔里木气区、柴达木气区和海域气区;新领域的突破以及围绕大气田的深化勘探是储量增长的关键;近期陆上天然气勘探陆续出现新特点,展示出一批有前景的勘探领域.认为21世纪初期天然气勘探的主战场仍将是五大气区.
