Uso de imagem Quickbird para o mapeamento do uso e ocupação do solo da ilha fluvial denominada Ilha Solteira

The present paper has the objective of showing the adopted methodology in mapping soil usage and occupation in the fluvial area situated between Ilha Solteira (SP) and Selvíria (MS) using techniques such as remote sensing and geographic information systems (GIS). The employed images presented blue, red and green bands and were taken by the Quickbird satellite on October 4, 2006. The used software was the SPRING 4.3, which employs image processing techniques (contrast by color composition linear transformation) to allow independent visual interpretation of each color channel. After photo interpretation on the screen and field work, a six category map was generated: capoeira (62.1%), thin capoeira (10.5%), cerrado-field (bushes) (25.6%), flooded fields (0.30%), exposed soil (1.3%) and human used (0.20%). The applied methodology presented good results in the mapping of soil usage and occupation.
