Environmental chromatographic methods and regulations in the United States of America

The five major monitoring programs the pesticide program administered by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) are reviewed. Gas chromatographic (GC) and high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) methods used by each EPA program for organic analysis are described. Quality control is the major difference amoung methods in different programs. Trends for the future of environmental analyses in the US are discussed.
