Abstract
A set of compact ionization chamber-Si(IP) -CsI(T1) telescopes for multifragmentation studies are described. These ion chamber telescopes can be used either individually, or to augment the MSU Miniball 4 pi array. The characteristics of the large-area passivated, ion implanted Si detectors are investigated. Statistics on the overall planarity of these detectors as well as, the thickness of dead layers present at the surface of this type of detectors are examined.
