Abstract
Objective:To explore the method and the effect of surgical treatment for acute carpal tunnel syndrom.Methods:Fourteen patients with acute carpal tunnel syndrome were treated with surgical operation.During the operation,we cut the transverse carpal ligament,cleaned out the hematocele and inflammatory exudates in the tunnel,thoroughly released the nerve adhesion and the compression of median never.Results:All incisions were primary healing and the edema of the hand vanished within 1 week.The nerve symptom gradually recoved(recovery to normal time was 2-45 days with average of 15 days).Patients were followed up for 6-12 month after operation and the function of hand was excellent result.No relapsing symptom was found.Conclusion:Early decompression can obtain satisfactory effect for acute carpal tunnel syndrom after short-time observation and the conservative treatment failed.
