Mapping SNOMED CT to ICD-10 - a joint task of IHTSDO and WHO-FIC

Introduction The Interim Harmonization Panel between the IHTSDO and WHO/WHO-FIC are involved in a joint work to develop a cross map between SNOMED CT and ICD-10. Methods and materials The IHTSDO Mapping Special Interest Group (MapSIG) has been working to develop the technical procedures and business plan for the map. In 2008 the MapSIG has gathered sufficient competence in the fields of classification as well as SNOMED CT and has been able to successfully move the work forward by weekly telephone meetings.
