Abstract
When the waterflooding characteristic curve was used to evaluate the effect of reservoir waterflooding,the curves would conceal partial field information because the accumulative effect of the characteristic function,which resulted in difficulty in evaluation timely and even resulted in judging mistakes. Based on the characteristics of the sensitivity of derivative,the method of derivative curve of the given function was introduced into reservoirs engineering to evaluate the effects of waterflooding. And then the generation method of the derivative curve of accumulative water production was given based on analysis of its characteristic function. Its application result shows the Derivative Curve can be introduced to evaluate the effects of waterflooding accurately and timely.
