Progress in Transcriptional Control of Algae Genes

Transcriptional control is an important way of regulating of gene expression. It is studied mainly in three fields: cloning and analysis of promoter region, finding of DNA-binding protein and activity of gene transcription. In this paper, the widely used techniques for the study of transcriptional control, such as genome walking, electrophoresis mobility shift assay, yeast two-hybrid system, cDNA microarray and so on are introduced and the recent progress in the transcriptional control of algae gene is discussed.
