CO2 corrosion behavior in oil-field gathering medium and mathematical model of corrosion

The effects of temperature, flow velocity and NaCl content with saturated CO2 and the effects of various CO2 contents on the corrosivity of oil-field gathering media were studied. In oil-field service, 60 °C , relatively high flow velocity, saturated CO2 and NaCl content 25 g/L were intensive corrosion conditions. CO2 could extremely increase the corrosivity of oil-field medium. A mathematical model of corrosion has been established, average err of all testing data prediction was 2. 7 %, good accuracy was provided. The corrosion tubing flow imitating testing device being used has applied for national patent. Testing and assessment method has been compiled into enterprise standard of Shengli Oil-filed.
