Separation of Chromium Ions through supported Liquid Membranes and Membrane Reactors

摘要
The use of supported liquid membranes (SLM) for the selective separation of chromium ions from aqueous solutions is described. Flat‐sheet microporous polypropylene membranes loaded with Aliquat 336 in o‐xylene are used. The use of liquid membranes in electrochemical membrane reactors is also considered. Cell performance with and without separation are compared. The process has potential applications in recycling and for indirect electrochemical oxidations of organic compounds.
