Abstract
Ionic compounds of the types cis- and trans-[Pt(amine)2(pyrimidine)2](NO3)2 were synthesized and characterized by IR and multinuclear (195Pt, 1H and 13C) magnetic resonance spectroscopies. The results in 195Pt NMR seem to indicate the presence of π-bonding in the Pt–pyrimidine bond. The coupling constants J(195Pt–1H) and J(195Pt–13C) are larger in the cis isomers than in the trans analogues.
