Abstract
Introduction: Patients with prostate cancer have been treated with low dose rate (LDR) I125 brachytherapy at the Northamptonshire Centre for Oncology since 2002. We evaluated biochemical relapse according to the Phoenix definition (nadir PSA +2 ng/ml) [1] and assessed the occurrence of PSA bounce. A PSA bounce is a rise and subsequent fall in PSA of more than 0.2 ng/ml. This is a recognised phenomenon and may lead to a mistaken diagnosis of relapse [2].
