Low levels of cytokines and endotoxin in a fatal case of myocardial depression and septic shock due to Yersinia pseudotuberculosis.

We present a fatal case of Yersinia pseudotuberculosis sepsis,vith global cardiac dysfunction and shock, where the plasma levels of endotoxin, TNF-alpha and interleukin IL-1-beta were undetectable, IL-6 was low and IL-10 was increased 3 h before death.
