Area and number of mousehole groups in different habitats of Great Gerbils

Habitats of Great Gerbils were investigated in west Inner Mongolia in September and October,2004.Area and number of mousehole groups of Great Gerbils in habitats of immobile sand hills with Kalidium foliatum and Nitraria sibirica were compared with those of Nitraria sibirica sands.Results showed that large area of mousehole groups with high population size were found in immobile sand hills with Kalidium foliatum.Mousehole numbers of Great Gerbils were significant positive relative to number of immobile sandhills of Kalidium foliatum and Nitraria sibirica,as indicated that this kind of habitat was also more suitable for Great Gerbils.
