Reflections on stress and cognition

Military medicine shows much concern over the serious effect of military stress injury on the health of servicemen and the operational capability.During modern warfare,servicemen′s cognitive ability is often one of the most important combat capabilities.In the recent years,the research on the interaction between stress and cognition has made important progress.This paper reviews the interaction between stress and cognition and its biological significance.Based on the analysis of the protection needs of military stress injury,we propose that protection against military stress injury be enhanced and insight into military cognitive ability be gained.This paper provides a theoretical basis for effective control of the cognitive dysfunction caused by military stress injury and maintaining the servicemen′s psychological and physical health.
