Application of Gold Immune-chromatographic Assay for Plague Surveillance

Objective To choose rapid-sensitive detection assay for the plague antibody/antigen so as to provide scientific basis for plague prevention and cure.Methods To detect the plague antibody/antigen with gold immune-chromatographic assay(GICA),indirect hemagglutination assay(IHA)and reverse indirect hemaggluti-nation assay(RIHA)at the meantime.Results The positive samples were 10 with GICA and 6 with RIHA in 191 animal liver-spleen samples in Sichuan Province,The positive samples all were 13 with GICA and IHA in 417 animal serum samples.Conclusion GICA was proved to be a simple,rapid method for the detection plague antibody/antigen and quite suitable for the plague field surveillance.
