摘要
Chimpanzees and rhesus monkeys can reliably recognise objects across the sense-modalities of vision and touch. They nonetheless are unable to perceive the relationship between pairs of objects presented for prolonged visual discrimination training and then again for tactile training (or in converse order). Therefore good cross-modal recognition does not imply cross-modal transfer of training.
