This paper reports and provides sound explanations for changes of Pine Island Glacier, an attention-getting portion of the West Antarctic ice sheet, famous for its recent dra- matic behavior. The subject is of widespread interest, is generally well presented and makes substantive conclusions. I had reviewed an earlier version of this paper for an- other journal.
