Pollutant dispersal on estuary systems: study and mathematical modelling

In this paper we present a mathematical model for the pollutant dispersion in estuary systems. We justify the use of a difiusive-advective partial difierential equation model, its discretization procedures for the dispersal of pollutants in such a system, with distinct behaviours in water and in air. The authors believe that the relevance of the developed work lies in its potential use in environmental assessment processes for the deflnition of both preventive and clean-up strategies.
