Application of a three-level quality control system in the prevention of pressure ulcer

Objective To discuss the effects of the three-level quality control system in the prevention of pressure ulcer.Methods The three-level quality control system,including the grassroots pressure ulcer nursing teams,the hospital management teams of pressure ulcer and the pressure ulcer quality control system of the nursing department,was implemented and the training of pressure ulcer related knowledge was carried out.Results The knowledge and the nursing skills of pressure ulcer among nurses were both improved.The coincidence rate of the application of the Braden score chart was improved.At the same time,the reporting rate of unavoidable pressure ulcer was increased while the incidence was decreased(P0.01 or P0.05).Conclusion The three-level quality control system can not only improve the quality of basic nursing,and reduce the occurrence of pressure ulcer,but also promote the recovery of primary diseases,and ease the economic burdens of the patients.
