Abstract
It was observed that at an appropriate temperature range,as the temperatrue rose, the activity of Trogoderma variabile became more active, and the number of flying insect was bigger. When the illuminance was 380 lx,the adults were stimulated to fly at a short time, but stood at dark. The proportions of the unmated flying male and female adults were 31.1% and 82.52% respectively. However, after mating and spawning, the proportion flying female and male adults became 6.67% and 77.78%.Among the paired adults, the flying ones accounted for 61.2%,of which about 14.3% were females. Most female adults began to fly within 7 days before or at the initial stage of spawning,or after eclosion. The pattern of mating adult insect appeared in the shape of letter V.They mated many times in their lives. The female adults became more active before spawning, their bodies bent backward while walking, and, exposed and swug their ovipositors to find suitable places to lay eggs. The eggs appeared as single, string, line or cluster in gaps.
