Objective Analyze genetic epidemiological characteristics of PCOS in Guangdong province.Methods Data for 324 patients with PCOS were obtained by questionnaire,combined with clinical test.Statistic analysis was performed using SPSS 13.0 and the Falconer method.Results The ratio of oligomenorrhoea of PCOS was 74.23%,the ratio of androgen excess was 52.71%,and 93.27% patients were diagnosed by the ultrasound with polycystic ovaries.The prevalence rates of oligomenorrhoea among the first relatives for probands and controls were 17.81% and 7.70%,respectively and with male alopecia was 11.15% and 5.33%,respectively.The prevalence rate of probands in first relatives was significantly higher than that in controls.The heritability of first degree relatives of probands was 44.91%.Conclusion The effect of genetic factors is strong in PCOS,but other factors such as the impact of environment are also strong.
