We present algorithms to optimally choose sensors and actuatorsto control a given discrete event system so that the closed loop behaviorsatisfies a specified constraint.The main results of this paper are algorithms which demonstrate:the polynomial solution to the choice of actuators, the polynomial solutionto the choice of sensors for certain supervisory control problems,and the solution to the general choice of sensors1.Keywords: Discrete Event Systems, Observability,...
