Abstract
Spontaneous idiopathic intestinal intussusception, a very rare process in adults, presents with unspecifïc clinical manifestations of which abdominal pain is usually preponderant. Because many clinicians are unfamiliar with the condition, they fail to diagnose it early, and the subsequent negative course often requires intestinal resection. We describe a patient with this problem, and stress that the information provided by imaging techniques is often sufficient for a rapid, unequivocal diagnosis.
