Seasonal Changes in the Liver Mineral Content of Coregonus Nasus (pallas), Sensu Svärdson, in the Bay of Bothnia

1.1. A clear seasonal variation was found in the copper content of the liver of Coregonus nasus (Pallas), sensu Svärdson, but was not a sex-dependent variation.2.2. In calcium and magnesium content both a seasonal and a sex-dependent variation were found.3.3. No seasonal or sex-dependent variation occurred in the zinc content.4.4. The results suggest that the changes in the liver mineral contents cannot be connected with feeding intensity.5.5. It is assumed that the changes are partly connected with changes in the metal constituents of the metal enzyme complexes or with changes in the metalloenzyme concentrations.
